Grammy Award winning rocker turned all-ages entertainer Dan Zanes and Haitian-American jazz vocalist / music therapist Claudia Zanes have been singing in harmony since the day they met in 2016. They perform their soulful style of folk music extensively throughout the United States (and recently returned from a three week tour of Finland and Estonia). Dan + Claudia have released two records on the legendary Smithsonian Folkways label. Their most recent, Pieces of Home expands their vision of joyful intergenerational porch party music.
Tyree Austin from Gary, Indiana is a recent graduate of Howard University’s jazz vocal program. He brings the uplifting spirit of his hometown’s heroes, The Staple Singers, into every song that he sings. He officially joined Dan + Claudia in 2024.
This new trio is heavy on vocal harmonies, 12 string guitar, and a social spirit that invites people of all ages to sing along and dance from the very start.
Dan + Claudia moved to Baltimore from Brooklyn, NY three months before the pandemic. They love the people and the music of Maryland and feel honored to be celebrating the release of Pieces of Home with a community concert at The Manor Mill.
