Introduction to Hand Broom Making with Brooms & Blessings: $65 ($50 for instruction, $15 for materials)
This 2-hour workshop is an introduction to traditional broom making. Participants will use simple tools to make a Turkey Wing & Fan Whisk hand broom & discover a new appreciation for the decorative & functional styles of this Appalachian craft. Participants will learn about broom making, brush control, & the “V-Up” technique while creating these personalized works of art. There will also be an opportunity to purchase the materials & the tools needed to continue creating these gorgeous brooms at home.
