Come join “Sweet ‘n Savory” exhibiting artist, Bim Jones, as she takes you on an artistic journey with marzipan! Learn how to model marzipan into the traditional tiny fruits and vegetables and paint them to look like the real thing.
What is marzipan, you might ask? It’s sort of like playdoh, and sort of like fondant, only way more delicious than either. Basically it’s just peeled and ground almonds, mixed with sugar. What’s not to love?! Nuts and sugar! It’s gluten-free, vegan and has no cholesterol.
During this two hour class you’ll get step by step instructions and guidance for both the modeling and the painting. You’ll have the opportunity to make as many as 6 different items: a pear, a peach, an apple, a pumpkin, an orange and a lemon. These traditional candies make great gifts, fun decorations for cakes and an extra special treat for most any occasion.
If you like to sculpt, or make food with your hands, or if you just like to play with your food, this workshop will be perfect for you! Ages 12 & Up. All supplies will be included in your registration fee.
Thanks, and we look forward to having you at this unique class at Manor Mill!
