Fully into the steeplechase season, Manor Mill welcomes you on Monday, April 14th, from 6-7:30PM to hear award-winning writer Patrick Smithwick read exhilarating and passionate passages of racing, fox-hunting and the racetrack life from his trilogy of memoirs—Racing My Father, Flying Change, and Racing Time—while surrounded by an extraordinary exhibit, Horses & Hounds, celebrating Maryland’s rich equine legacy. In the world of fox hunting and Thoroughbred racing, timing is everything. With the Elkridge Harford Point to Point and the Manor Races having just been held and The Grand National and The Hunt Cup coming up on the two last weekends of April, the timing is perfect for this reading/art exhibition to be held at Manor Mill.
Manor Mill is located at 2029 Monkton Rd, Monkton, MD 21111.
Smithwick will be reading in the gallery space, surrounded by equine art on all four walls. He will give an update on his nationally recognized, War’s Over, Come Home, A Father’s Search for His Son, Two Tour Marine Veteran of the Iraq War, answer questions, and if time allows read a page from his upcoming memoir.

We look forward to having you at Manor Mill!
