One of the charms of watercolor is how fluid it can be in a “wet-in-wet” application. We will create a landscape tree line and allow it to grow on its own as we apply paint to a wet horizon. The hydroscopic qualities of salt on watercolor allows it to absorb the wet pigment, and we will sprinkle salt to lend pattern and texture to our forest. We’ll finish with a snowy foreground and use a splatter technique to add falling snow to our winter scene.
